Hey there! We’re Bronson and Makaela, the Pa and Ma behind Curio Crow.
We’re based in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, specifically Washington State, where we make herbal remedies with care, curiosity, and a deep respect for plant medicine... but we probably make too many jokes.
Bronson first got interested in herbal remedies back in middle school. Makaela grew up around herbal traditions as a normal part of her Chinese culture, so plants-as-care never felt weird or woo-woo to her. It was just part of life.
Both of our families have been shaped by addiction and serious health issues connected to heavy pharmaceutical use. That history is a big part of why we care so much about natural remedies, body autonomy, and having more tools available than whatever happens to be sitting over the counter.
We’re also parents to two kiddos, aka crib lizards, and we’re both musicians. You can hear our original music at bronsonbragg.com and makaelajoy.com.
We make high-quality herbal products with a homemade standard of care. Not homemade as in random or sloppy. Homemade as in we know what’s in it, we care how it’s made, and we use it ourselves.
Most of what we make could technically be made in your own kitchen, and we love that. Herbalism should not feel locked behind a gate. But some things are time-consuming, tedious, messy, or just annoying to make well. Keeping a full home apothecary can also turn into a lot of jars, plants, labels, and mystery batches pretty fast.
That’s where we come in. We make things first for our own family, then make them in larger batches so other people can use them too.
In other words, we actually use our own products. We’re not just selling random bottles because they look cute on a shelf, although, to be fair, they do look pretty cute on a shelf.

Our ingredients are either certified organic or pesticide-free. We care more about the actual quality of the plant than the paperwork around it.
You can usually tell a lot about a plant by its smell, and the same goes for our tinctures. They smell and taste like the real plant because they are.
We source as much of our ingredients as possible from small, local businesses.
Our community is tight-knit, curious, and pretty good at looking things up before pretending we know everything.
In our Facebook group, questions are encouraged. It’s a great place to ask other customers about their experiences with herbal remedies, compare notes, and get a better feel for which products might be a good fit for you.
Learning is powerful on its own, but it gets even better when a bunch of minds are sharing experiences and helping each other understand the plants a little more.
We are not doctors, and we do not give medical advice. We’re not here to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent anything, and we’re definitely not here to cosplay as your healthcare provider.
What we do is research the ingredients we use, pay attention to the traditional and modern information available, and turn that work into products we feel good about using ourselves.
So yes, ask questions. Especially in the Facebook group. Curiosity is kind of the whole point.

We take pride in our honesty. If there is a problem with your order we will correct it. If you made a mistake in your order we will gladly correct it (via contacts page ASAP, please.)
If we don't know the answer to a question we will say, "I don't know, let me look into that."
Basically... we're just people who work with people. And we don't use "customer serivce industry jargon" crap. So don't expect that kind of "PrOfEsSiOnALiSm" from us. ;)
Not in the communication aspect of the business anyway. Our products are awesome.

Karate. Enough said.
